2017

January – March

Bringing in the new year we decided to go ahead and design our first batch of business cards to start passing out and promoting the brand. We also made social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to start promoting the brand online as well. Since we already had our own logo design we took it upon ourselves to print us some apparel to wear while going out in public with our logos for promotion too. Alongside the Print & Design company we had another family owned brained we were building around the same time which is a Auto Detailing brand named 1QuikWash that we did all of the print and design work for as well.

April – June

It wouldn’t be until April 17, 2017 when we decided to officially launch our first online website and take the business to the next level. Once the website launched we felt that the business was a bit more official but knew that it would take some time to get our website exactly how it was planned and 100% completed. It took almost 1-2 months to get the site fully functional with all of our products/services and the features we would need to make using our website as simple as possible.

July – September

During the summer of 2017 is when we officially started taking online and offline orders as a official printing/design brand. We had a few customers who were starting up their brands as well that gave us a short at helping them bring their visions to life with our print services.

2016

April

HeatWaveCreations was just a thought in the mind of our Founder and C.E.O back in April of 2016. The name HeatWaveCreations was already thought of before April of 2016 but it wasn’t a business idea as of yet only a name that sounded cool. What sparked the idea to come up with the name was our Founder and C.E.O wanting to start a brand of his own separate from all of the group projects in his recent past. He already had a clothing brand that was a partnership but nothing of his own that was a solo venture. He literally tweeted on April 12, 2016 that “Heat Waves Just Keep Getting Created” about one of the designs that he created that same week and that was the start of it all. With HWC the idea was to start a company of his own and to have a name that wasn’t locked down to one category of business when you hear it spoken out loud. If someone says HeatWaveCreations out loud you don’t only thing of it is as a T-Shirt printing company it could literally be a company name in almost any category because of the last word “Creations” which gives it the power that was needed to be a long lasting brand. Any and everyone in the world can be a creator it starts in the mind from a simple thought of wanting to create or bring something new to the world.

May

HeatWaveCreations still wasn’t born as an official company as of yet only the name and a idea. It wasn’t until after the month of May that HWC would become a actual Print, Design & Marketing brand. At the beginning of the month of May 2016 our Founder; Corico Moore decided to quit the only job he every had and use the last 2 pay checks he saved to purchase his first Printing Bundle setup off Ebay. That same week he had a trip schedule to go to Puerto Rico on a family vacation which was ultimately the only pause on actually starting the brand. He had one week to get his mental space and energy together on this vacation because quitting the job that was paying the bills at the time to start this new business venture was a big risk to take. The plan was to come back from Puerto Rico and go full throttle with this new venture, but of course we all know plans don’t always go as planned.

June/July

From the end of May throughout the month of June 2016 most of that time was spent on learning how to used the new equipment and studying the print/design business. During June a most of those hours were spent watching Youtube videos, Google searching and all of the basic knowledge + tools needed to get started in the print/design industry. After wasting a bunch of sign vinyl and learning the differences in materials the real beginning of HWC was approaching. The official 1st Logo Design was created at the beginning of July and the first time it was posted anywhere online was on the date of July 7, 2016 via twitter. At that point the name and official logo was both online together for the world to see. The business still wasn’t officially started only the name and logo.

August – December

Now that we had an idea it was time to create a vision and continue learning so for the rest of year 2016 we only focused on learning the ins and outs of the printing industry without officially putting anything on paper as a business. The year really consisted of seeing if it was something that we really wanted to do and not just a temporary money grab type of situation. We didn’t want to get to far ahead of ourselves and do all types of paperwork early on just in case we lost interest over time in the field.
